Active listening – A servant leader seeks to ascertain the collective will
of a group and contributes to the process of elucidating that will;
• Empathy – A servant leader makes an effort to comprehend other
people and put themselves in their shoes;
• The promotion of healing – Servant-leaders are aware of the fact that
they have the ability to assist those who are struggling and with whom
they come into contact. Since many people struggle with their own
personal issues, they offer assistance in overcoming these issues and
returning to a state of “wholeness.” • Awareness – Servant-leaders have
a high level of awareness, particularly of their own selves. 139
• Conceptualization – Servant-leaders demonstrate the ability to think
beyond day-to-day realities. • Foresight – This enables servant-leaders to
understand the lessons from the past, the realities of the present, and the
likely consequence of a decision for the future. • Stewardship – Servantleaders are committed to serving the needs of others. • Commitment to
the greatness of the organization. • Commitment to the greatness of the
people.
