Health Protection Policy
It is the constitutional requirement that all people be protected from any risk. Dealing
with patients who are affected by life-threatening diseases engage health practitioners into
danger. The introduction of a policy in the health setting is a critical factor that can be used to
protect practitioners from these risks. When formulating policy, all stakeholders in the health
setting should be included to ensure they understand how their affairs and safety are catered. The
policy should promote workers relationship to enhance the quality of services produced.
According to various studies, healthy and safe workers produce high-quality services as
compared to unhealthy.
Component of the Policy
In the policy, I will introduce health insurance. Health insurance offers essential advantages to
both patients and practitioners as it protects them from unexpected risks. Health insurance covers
the cost and life-related issues that could occur unexpectedly. Second, the occupation safety and
health rules which will ensure that workers are subjected to a safe environment. This law will
ensure that necessary information is provided to workers when working in a particular area
(Klingender, 2016). These instructions may be accompanied by training to minimize a person
from endangering themselves and others. As such, a person will get the necessary information on
how to handle various materials that one is using when working with patients who are affected
by life-threatening diseases.
Workers’ compensation is another crucial component that can be integrated into the
health policy. Compensation entails advantages that workers are offered after being subjected to
risk. These compensations offer workers an excellent condition to recover in case of risk. For
instance, when a health practitioner is subjected to a threat, they should be provided free medical

until they heal (Klingender, 2016). Health compensations minimize cases of workers leaving the
hospital setting when their health conditions are not right. Additionally, alcohol and drugs abuse
is another essential component that should be included in the policy (Mustafa, Ostrov, and Yerly,
2018). This component protects health workers from engaging in activities that endanger their
health such as drug misuses. Health workers may endanger themselves as they handle these risks
diseases such as alcohol misuse.
How to Sell the Policy to other Members
People are attracted to an area where they understand that their affair is well catered. It critically
attracts members to participate in that area actively. When a person is subjected to life threating
diseases, they incur a lot of resources as they try to control. Therefore, understanding that the
policy critically caters their affair will influence them to participate. Training employees and
management about how to handle the risk is another essential factor that I can use to sell the
policy (Klingender, 2016). Training makes a person to develop a tactic that employees can use to
manage stress when dealing with these diseases. Working with patients who are affected by these
diseases subject workers in a stressful life. Most workers use drugs and other illegal substance to
fight the effect of stress. Therefore, the policy can facilitate to create a positive lifestyle in a
hospital setting. For instance, workers feel free when working with a patient who is human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as significant risks such as fluids are aware of how to handle it
(Mustafa, Ostrov, and Yerly, 2018). Additionally, compensation offers a chance for stressed
workers to be rehabilitated. As a result, people will be attracted to conditions which improve that
working standard.
The Employee Assistance Program

The employee assistance program is an effective activity that promotes a positive workplace.
This activity entails professional counseling services whereby workers will be informed about
the risks related to the disease. Workers will be influenced to develop confidence when working
with patients who have been affected by these life-threatening diseases. Additionally, the
program will ensure that workers are bonded together as one family especially when handing
these risk diseases (Klingender, 2016). As such, it will ensure workers understand critical issues
that they may encounter in a hospital setting. It will help to identify and discover new ways on
how to overcome the risk. Finally, the program will facilitate in the development of effective
approaches that workers will use when handling these patients.
Evaluation
Assessment and evaluation of the policy is an effective technique that can assist to identify
whether the plan was accepted. To evaluate the policy, I will examine the number of workers
who have been affected by the risks after handling the patients. This evaluation will be compared
with the previous years. Lack of effective protection technique had endangered workers as they
easily get into contact with diseases virus. Therefore, if the rate of disease infection on workers
had changed, it is an indication that the policy had some effects. Workers’ perception toward the
policy is another tactic that can be used to evaluate the program. This evaluation can be done
using an interview or questionnaires where workers will feel the document based on their view.
Additionally, analyzing the hospital records to determine whether workers are compensated
when they are exposed to risk is another evaluation technique. As such, I will check on the kind
of services workers are offered and if they match the type of hazard. Finally, I will check
whether workers are still using drugs combat stress that they encounter through measuring their
performance.
