Thesis: The study of cultural expressions, such as language, art, and architecture,
is an important component of cultural analysis. Architecture is a way for people to
express their Culture, and it has a direct impact on the structural, historical,
political, economic, and social aspects of every given civilization. Using tangible
objects, people in every country aspire to develop an architecture that adheres to
their national norms and values in some way. Cultural and societal attitudes have
the most profound impact on architecture. Consequently, it seems that Culture has
a significant influence on the development of architectural identity. Using archival
and library sources, this paper aims to learn more about culture’s role in shaping a
building’s unique aesthetic character. This will lead to an investigation of Iranian
historic structures from different ages after rethinking notions of Culture, identity,
and architecture, as well as their interrelationships.

Architectural settings may be influenced by Culture in two ways: to create a
functional organization as well as spatial hierarchy employing the formulation of
behavioural laws and regulations. Creating meaning in an architectural
environment is accomplished by using symbols, archetypes, and metaphors to
elicit recollections, beliefs, and bodily sensations.

Culture also has a tangible element, which refers to things like buildings and
industries. In truth, a society’s Culture includes all of these aspects. The
connection between culture and architecture can be observed here since it is
founded on the values, beliefs, and so on of the people who built it. Buildings are
like dusty book that deserves to be read.

Conclusion
The architectural body was shaped by the cultural indicators of the society, and
those who lived in the national Culture were able to build an architecture that had
a distinct character. Previous research has shown that antique architecture had a
strong sense of identity since it reflected human ideals. It should not be mistaken
that the re-creation of places in conventional architectural constructions that have
a sense of their own character. Because the requirements of the previous period
were met by the traditional architecture, re-creating it in the new era will not meet
those needs. As a cultural construct that emerged from and was impacted by its
own culture, a community’s Culture serves to define its own unique identity. One
of the most significant and defining traits of any country and time period is the art
of architecture.
