Definitions of leadership
According to Janda (1960), defining leadership as a phenomena requires
the participation of two or more people interacting with one another.
[Citation needed] In addition, the majority of definitions of leadership
reflect the notion that leadership entails an influencing process in which
the leader intentionally influences the behavior of followers. This
assumption is reflected in the fact that most definitions of leadership.
It would appear that the various definitions of leadership that have been
presented have very little else in common with one another. There are a
number of major distinctions between the definitions, including
differences in who exerts influence, the aim of attempts to exert
influence, and the manner in which influence is exercised.
