Discussion Response Two
We are together in this, that Quality of Service (QoS) is defined as a collection of network
technologies that ensure a network’s ability to reliably execute high-priority applications and
traffic despite constrained network capacity. This is accomplished through QoS solutions, which
provide differentiated handling and capacity allocation to various flows in network traffic. This
allows the network administrator to specify the sequence in which packets are processed as well
as the amount of bandwidth available to that application or traffic flow.
However, I tend to agree more on what to forgo in order to get that which is the most important. I
agree that video conferencing are increasingly becoming primary way of holding business
meetings, however, the pervasive nature of voice calls and emailing makes the two the primary
means of data exchange within a network hence must emphasize VoIP over old analog phone
lines and transporting telecommunication traffic over IP-based switch infrastructure.
