The performance of Medical Centre Elsewhere can be measured against the level of
achievement of its intended organization’s goals for, the clinic’s level of waste reduction and the
extent to which the clinic’s ability to remain accountable to stakeholders, the public to whom
they provide services. Brody, (2012), notes that ethical considerations in care should be tied to an
organization’s goal toward waste reduction through elimination of unbeneficial tests and
interventions, he quotes the ethical principle of nonmaleficence as an essential guide to such.
Medical Centre Elsewhere performance can be further assessed through assessment of the
functions of the employees, their levels of motivation and service delivery to clients at the clinic.
The board can contribute to the organization’s accountability through developing
objectives for the organization. The objectives developed by boards are shared with the medical
center stakeholders including patients. Through such objectives, the stakeholders can vet the
clinic’s ability to achieve these objectives (Satyshur, 2014,). Key objectives also act as a push for
clinic’s employees to guide in achieving set organizational goals. The board can ensure
accountability through progress reporting to stakeholders on the clinic’s progress.
According to Brody, (2012), management of wastage in an organization is a vital element
in achieving the objectives of the organization. The management has a role to ensure that
resources of the health clinic are well maintained and well managed. Management role of
ensuring control for resources within the clinic is imperative in establishing the necessary
materials and procedures that can be profitably availed at the clinic. The management team
should also contribute towards managing the human resource within the clinic towards achieving
the goals of the clinic and in facilitating execution of the objectives derived by the boards.

Healthcare organizations are accountable to all the key stakeholders such as local
community leaders, donors, financiers, and clinicians. Medical center elsewhere can ensure
accountability to the stakeholders through establishing and adherence to key objectives and
ethical guidelines. Ethical guidelines ensure that the organizations and its management and staff
are guided towards achieving their set goals and are transparent in the process.
Accountability affects working culture in that accountability sets out aims and goals
towards which all workers work to achieve creating a common front for the workers. Lack of
such a goal in an organization would create disharmony in the working culture of an
organization. Ethical dilemmas are a common occurrence in health care practice, ethical
dilemmas that occur in my daily work are care related. I once cared for a patient who suffered
from a sexually transmitted infection but did not inform his wife about it and requested I do not
disclose this information to her during his discharge. I was ethically bound to protect his
confidentiality yet I consciously knew the repercussions to the wife could be damaging.
Accountability ensures that health care providers and other actors in health care are
answerable and responsible for the actions they take or omit in their practice. In this way,
accountability acts as a check and balance for ethical practice. Accountability is vital in health
care because it ensures controls in practice by establishing spheres and boundaries within which
health providers can responsibly work within. Obama care has established parity in access to
care irrespective of individual’s underlying health problems. Obama care has achieved this by
establishing indiscriminative access to health insurance and parity in mental health care access
some of the disparities that previously were exploited to provide care discriminatively.
