Measures of Central Tendency and Variation
The center of the data may be found by using measures of central tendency to
summarize the data. It is important to remember that the mean, median, and mode are the most
popular central tendency measurements. If you’re looking for an average or median or mode,
you’re looking for these three values in a data set. By determining the data’s spread, measures
of variance may be used to summarize data (Chakrabarty, 2021). The range and the standard
deviation are two often used metrics of variance.
Using range and standard deviation, you may determine how far off your data are from
one another and the average number. In my opinion, central tendency is indeed an average, as
stated by Holmes (2019). The mean, and the mode and the median, may be found at the heart of our
data sets. There are three components of variation: range, variance, and quality. The variation is a
measure of how the data is distributed and is the reverse of central tendency (Wong et al., 2018, p.38).
In order to be a more dependable participant in a research, one must consider their general health.
As I have prepared for this assignment by reading academic publications, I’ve noticed that the
bulk of these studies focus on a certain demographic. For example, a person’s resting heart rate may be
significantly affected by the presence of numerous commodities. A healthy pulse rate at rest may thus
be feasible for someone infected with a myocardial infection, making them an anomaly in the research I
conducted (Beyer, 2021). My pulse rate was considerably out of the norm on a few of occasions, but I
have no idea why since I did not filter my sample. If my data is somewhat skewed because I didn’t
consider general health, the location of my pulse, or any other of the data given above, I’m sorry about
that.
