articles, movie etc.
There are 6 steps to create a critical essay:
1. Examine a source: read it carefully and critically.

instruments that the author uses to communicate to the readers. Take note of the
words, grammar constructions or styles being used. Think of a question that pop-up in
your mind while reading and write them too.
2. Organize your thoughts: figure out the core claim and evidence, do research of secondary
sources.
In this step you will be going to figure out the core topic and problem of the piece. Find
the central claim of the piece and the evidence demonstrating the claim. Does it have
difference or similarities to other corresponding works. Think of ideas that comes into
your mind and write it down. Once you write down all your ideas, organize them, group

Based on the information you’ve gathered from the subject of evaluation (a book, a
movie, etc.) and secondary sources, write a thesis that will specify your essay’s
direction. It should be a one sentence thesis; whatever your claims are you must provide
proofs and details sustaining it.
4. Write an outline.

have arguments and evidences to evaluate in paragraphs. You must think well and
decide which evidence would support your thesis statement best. Outlining helps the
writers save time and structuralize all your points into paragraphs to make it easier for
you to write them.
5. Write a draft of your critically essay.
On writing a draft author must begin with an examination or a summary of the work and
its central claim. Then, evaluate and analyse it with the evidences. After that you have
to conclude your critical essay with the emphasis on its most essential insights. The
author must have to stay formal and objective; use language properly; remember about
references used; guide readers to follow your thought and claims.
6. Edit and improve your essay.
After writing your essay you might have to read it for a few times to see mistakes. You
can ask help from your friends, professor or parents for them to see your essay in a
different way as a reader to be exact and it will be easier for them to identify weak
