IV. LESSON PROPER
A. Activities
The teacher will present the Rainbow Cake containing “The Parable of Rainbow
Colors” by Juan Martin Flavier.
Before we proceed to our
discussion, who among you have
an idea of a parable?
A parable is a short story intend to
give a moral lesson.
Very good. Who can give me an
example of parable? Who else?
The Parable of the Pomegranate
Seed
Okay. I will you show this Rainbow
Cake.
B. Analysis
What are the colors of the
rainbow?
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue,
Indigo and Violet.
Who are the characters in the
story?
The 7 Colors of the Rainbow and
the Rain.
What happened to the colors in
the story?
Quarreled about who is the
strongest among them.
What is the change that
happened in each of the colors?
They become one and united as
they know their each strengths
C. Abstraction
The students will pass the magic bowl while the music is playing. As the
music stops, the person who holds the magic bowl will pick a color of paper
then read the question and answer it orally.
What are the qualities that symbolize the color red in the story?
What are the qualities that symbolize the color orange in the story?
What are the qualities that symbolize the color yellow in the story?
What are the qualities that symbolize the color green in the story?
What are the qualities that symbolize the color blue in the story?
What are the qualities that symbolize the color indigo in the story?
What are the qualities that symbolize the color violet in the story?
D. Application
The class will be divided into 3 groups.
Group 1 – Rainbow Chart
• Recall the qualities of the colors. Evaluate their characteristics and decide
a word best describes each of them. Use the rainbow chart as your visual
aid. On the left side of the rainbow, write a one-word description for each
item. Relate those characteristics to yourself. On the right side of the
rainbow, explain how those rainbow’s qualities are related each of you.
Group 2 – Rainbow Poster
•
Create a rainbow poster that will show the significant qualities you have or
you wish to have. Relate those characteristics that you want to have to
the colors of the rainbow in the story.
Group 3 – Rainbow Skit
• Perform a short skit that will show the characteristics of the colors in the
story and relate it to the qualities that you have. Express your qualities
with pride and honor.

Prepare ½ sheet of paper and answer
the following questions I have given
you.
